Thank you for your letter of July 22, 1980.
{ am pleased to inform you that the DCI Secur
Committee's Investigative Standards Working
ity
Group has
completed its analysis of the Investigative and
Adjudicative
Standards of DCID 1/14. The working group's report is
enclosed together with its recommendations to the
Security
Committee. The Security Committee plans to discuss those
recommendations in September and I hope to
report
the results of that discussion as soon thereafter to you
as
possible,
As a result of unavoidable delays in the analy
sis and
publication of the working group's report, as well
as the
pressing nature of other business, the recommenda
tions
noted in your letter are only now being addre
ssed by the
working group. Both items are being discussed actively and,
aS soon as Security Committee action on them
is completed,
I shall also report those results to you.
